There is no music that can get somebody up and dancing quite like big band swing music. There are so many big band swing artists that make you want to get up and dance all of your cares away. There are not a lot of artists today bringing that kind of energy into the music that they play that is conveyed through true passion for what they do. Benny Goodman
Benny Goodman is considered to be the King of Swing and is an American swing and jazz musician. He played the clarinet and also was a well-known band leader. Back in the 1930s, Goodman lead one of the most well-known musical groups in the U.S. They played at Carnegie Hall in 1938 and it is considered to be one of the best jazz concerts of all time. Goodman had bands that launched the careers of many widely-known jazz musicians. Segregation used to be a factor but Goodman integrated his jazz groups which contained the most talented in the genre, regardless of their race. He is known for bring big band swing into the homes and dance halls of many.

Duke Ellington
Duke Ellington was an American pianist, songwriter, and band leader of a jazz orchestra. He was the leader of this orchestra from 1923 until he passed away in 1974. This is over 50 years of bring the big band jazz sound into the homes of many. His orchestra not only played in the biggest places in New Yok but even in Europe. While some people refer to Ellington as a jazz musician, some people just consider him a true American musician.

Glenn Miller
It is impossible to talk about big band jazz music without talking about Glenn Miller. He was known for his big band musical abilities and his ability to lead a phenomenal orchestra. During the swing era, he was able to create one of the best-known bands and become one of the best-selling jazz recording artists of all time. While he was serving in World War II, Miller’s aircraft disappeared during a storm over the English Channel. He was serving in the war in order to present music to the people that needed it most of all. He is one of the most influential jazz artists of all time.
